I’m officially playing any pocket pair, for any amount, at any time.
Get a load of this:
$2-5 NL. Preflop raise to $55, I've got pocket 2s, one other caller (behind me).
Flop: AT2 ($300 goes into the pot. Total pot $450)
Turn: T ($1,000 more goes into the pot)
River: 2 (Everyone goes all in. Total pot $2,700)
One guy has AT (Tens full of aces)
The other guy has KT (Trip tens with top kicker)
I would have had QUAD DUECES
BUT I DIDN'T CALL THE $55.

Even though you flopped a set of 2's would you have played after the turn with two T's and an A showing? I probably would've folded considering the betting from other players was so high. Then again, it also depends on my position.
(did you mean quad 2's?)
Oh, I just might be playing some hold'em this weekend.......wish me luck. =)
Yes, Quad twos (thanks).
Yes, I was behind on the turn (way behind in fact), but I would have been THRILLED to put myself all in. Full house over full house doesn't happen much.
Good luck this weekend!
gay story, cause you know better. that's even worse that a bad beat story. its
you making a sound play, that would have paid off if you were a donkey. you know
the rule. you have to be getting at least 10-1 IMPLIED odds to call a raise with
a pocket pair. if not, its negative Expected Value. see, I do know a lot about
this game, I just play dumb, its more fun.
